The Sarawak State Elections is here and the town is abuzz with politicians. The big guns from all the different political parties are here to convince the people to vote for them.

It is a serious matter because....

Sarawak is the largest state in Malaysia and holds the most seats among all the other states. So it is vital to see how the political circumstances shifts here.

If the opposition coalition wins this round.

There might be a reformation and history in the making....

So, we are praying for a change...

Time to put on the Game face and vote for the party who can represent you, the Rakyat and hopefully, to give us a better tomorrow.

Time to vote Sarawakians...... It's our time.....

Paper-toy creations

March has became the month in which I find inspiration, motivation and exploration into things which can keep me inspired and occupied. But for these few days, it's paper-toy crafts which has caught my attention. Weird and cute at the same time, I hope these will keep me occupied and inspired for a long long time. Maybe into a business ideas in Sibu? I dunno... Still experimenting on a few templates I found online. Am planning to redesign it soon...

Doing this, it actually keeps my creative mind moving and also gave me the desire to use my camera. Odd as it is, I love origami or anything made with paper. I still remember my origami/paper chair I designed 2 and a half years ago for a studio project at Taylors. Now, it has reached new levels.

Should be updating more since its the holidays but what the heck... Been so lazy to update. But I still see people looking into my blog once in a while, so "Thank You" from the bottom of my heart for your continuous support.

It's already 2011! Can you imagine that? I am now a degree holder upon graduating from The University of Melbourne, though it is not official because I haven't gone to the ceremony. OH WELL! Many stories and pictures to share with you for this new year but then like I said. Lazy me!

Anyway, in conjunction with the coming Chinese New Year, I came up with some CNY bunnies since it's my year, the year of the Rabbit! Woots!

Year end and sunsets

Sometimes when we are to engulfed in our goals and dreams that time just passes at a blink of an eye. It is already the end of 2010 and Christmas is coming soon, the semester is over, results are out and I finished by degree. Next step.. Going back to Malaysia, enjoy 3 months of break and apply for masters. I am glad I am ending my "stay" in Melbourne for the year 2010 with a beautiful sunset at St Kilda beach. It was a bright and sunny Summer Saturday and I decided to head for the beach to catch the sunset. And with no regrets, it was absolutely gorgeous.

It was already 8 pm. when the sun began to set. With the warm weather, comes a beautiful orange hue sky.

Beauty like this makes you want to live longer, to fight and live life. To capture every beauty that God provides for us.

Thank God for beautiful world He created.

How I wish that change was evitable, happiness is constant and growing up is easy or maybe not to grow up at all.

But who am I kidding? Wishes like these are just for fools who could not bear with what reality throws at them.

No! I am better than that. I need to stay strong and fight for happiness, I need to fight so that change becomes bearable and through this, growing up will be a piece of cake.

Even if death is at my door, I will just have to accept it and know that I lived life with no regrets.

I just need to ACCEPT.

The Road Not Taken

Have you ever had regrets? In life I mean. I guess everyone does have their own regrets and things they wish they had done or had not done in the past. But imagine if this path that we are taking wasn't taken. Would we have regretted it as well? Some food for thought.....

In the midst of finals, exams I mean, I am somehow still chilling till the last minute to study. I suppose, after enduring weeks of hardwork and sleepless nights for the final studio project for the year, exams seems to be the least of worries. Word of advice... If you are planning to be an architect, there will be times when you will ask yourself constantly: "Why am I doing this?" But I suppose it will be worth it when one doesn't quit and keep pushing on and fighting to become better.

Well, since I am so relaxed here are some recent pictures taken around Melbourne City. Hopefully, now that I'd been away for a year, Malaysia would have much more things to snap when I return.

Melbourne is indeed a beautiful city. Busy like all cities but not as crowded and uncomfortable compared with Kuala Lumpur. But we can't compare cities.. No no no.. There is much beauty and contrast between the two.

One thing about Melbourne which I absolutely love is it's architecture.

The neo-gothic architecture is absolutely stunning.

Its spring, so out come these beautiful flowers which attracts the bees... I love nature shots.

And even on gloomy days...

There will be street performers entertaining the public.. Its just amazing... Imagine K.L. having this, I think they will be chased by police, the donations will be stolen and that is those watching will give any donations at all. LOL.

The Urban wildlife seems to be well-fed. Another LOL factor.

But the best of all,

On a beautiful Spring day,

Somewhere in a park, where the sounds of the city is unheard,

You can just chillax and lie on the grass and try to soak up some sun and catch some Zzzzzs'.

Some people love it when the sun rises. I on the other hand find it much refreshing as the sun sets. And why is that? Its because it signifies that I lived the day, and hopefully to its fullest, I have no regrets and as the sun sets, I know its the time for me to rest and say to you (for all those people who knows me), thank you for being part of this day. Thank you for the friendship as I live another day. Thank you for the memories and thank you for just being you. Life is full of regrets, but as the sun sets on the west... it has to rise on the east, and a new day is born and all regrets are covered by newer experiences.

Happy or not happy... I celebrated my 23rd birthday just recently. Happy part was, my birthday fell 2 days after my final studio presentation so it was the right time to celebrate, and that I celebrated my birthday one day after with a good friend of mine Daniel and we were treated to a Meat Buffet at Docklands. I have to thank Darren, Aaron Lau, Ben, Bryan, Amanda, Yee Von, and Lydia for the wonderful time together.

Well, I am glad the semester is over. One of my worse years (I hate 2010) ever and am hoping it ends soon. But in the end, the work didn't turn out as badly as I expected and am just patiently waiting for the final exams and then the plans I am about to make for the holidays. I am contemplating whether I should try to find a job here or go back to Malaysia to spend time with my family... Missing home already. Next year will be an even more challenging year and my path is still unknown.. Feel kinda useless really. I thought I got everything planned out but I suppose. Nothing ever goes to plan in life. Will show my studio work in the future post. For now... Chilll.... And ponder what things life shall bring....

It's that time of semester again where the final semester design project is about to due and when sleeping at 6am in the morning is a norm. Sigh.. Not a happy semester, that I can tell you. This week (including last Friday) was so stressful, and losing a dear dear friend does not help either. Rebekah, really really miss you my friend, may you rest in peace as this is my final goodbye as I move on in life.

As memories came flooding in, Rebekah, you were more than just a good friend, you were like a little sister to me. I remember the times when we brought you to school in the morning before you could even drive. We were always greeted by you smiles and cheerful but sleepy “good mornings”. I remember the good times we had in secondary school and especially when we were serving in the Wesley Youth Service. When we went on our different path in life, I am glad we still met up when we were back in Sibu. With your cheerful and cheerful smile. I remember me, always messing up your hair just to disturb you and getting scolded by my mum. Those were such great memories. The loss of a great friend is hard to bear, the loss of someone close is heart-breaking.

Rebekah, though you were physically weak, you were one of the strongest and most passionate people I ever knew. You brought smiles and happiness into so many people’s live. Through music, friends, and even church. Your life was a testimony for all who knew you. Through all these sadness, I still thank God for a friend and a sister like you. You will be deeply missed and will always be remembered. Rebekah, thanks for being you. Thanks for being my friend. And as I can’t fly back to say goodbye, my heart is praying for you and your family. See you in Heaven soon my friend.

Spring finally came...

Spring came on Saturday with temperatures almost hitting the 20 degree Celsius mark. Spring is the time for flowers and photography because after 3 month of gloomy clouds and skies of spring, it is great to go out and soak up the sun. Went to the Tesselaar Tulip festival with a bunch of the guys for a photography outing and since Saturday was their Dutch festival so it was a great opportunity for a photography outing. Took us around and hour train ride from the city and another 20 minutes bus ride to the farm. It was way beyond the suburbs. When we reached there, it was packed with people. Reaching the farm, you are not only surrounded by people but rows of tulips.

However, don't let the pictures fool you. The farm is actually quite small. But the atmosphere was good. It is interesting to see how the Aussies will come out during a sunny day with their family. Oh yea, imagine the numbers of cameras taking pictures at the festival.

Dutch music and dances can be seen in the festival. Oh yea, for those who are thinking whether there were the "Dutch lady" milkmaids carrying milk buckets and all... The answer is... Sort of yes, but they were not holding any milk buckets and they are all around the age of 50++. I guess all the young generation ladies would not want to dress up like that. LOL.

Besides flowers, the second or maybe the most photogenic moments are seeing little children running across the fields of flowers or playing in the patches of grass. Its so cute seeing little ones treating what we think is just patches of land as their personal playground and not having a care in the world who is watching. Their innocence and joy is just too irresistible.

This cute little boy was throwing a tantrum on the grass while we were sitting at a table drinking coffee. His blue eyes and curly blond hair is just so lovely. I am so surprised that my compact camera could somehow focus and bring out the colour of his eyes.

And this cute kid stood in front of us for about a minute or two doing this.

There was food and ice-cream for sale. "I scream, you scream, we all scream, for ICE-CREAM!"

The folk dance presentation was interesting but I couldn't get any nice shots because there was just too many people in front of me and that I couldn't focus on any of the dancers. But nonetheless, there were some interesting shots of children watching the dances.

The dawn of a new season was apparent with bees flying from flower to flower generating new life. And also one of the reasons I am sneezing and coughing now. Pollen and dust is not good for an asthmatic person like me.

But its still very nice for spring to come... Just hope this Hay-fever won't last long.

But the shot of the day which can make one smile is this cute little girl. While I was sitting on the grass soaking in some sunshine, this little girl, with her dad right behind her walked towards us and danced. So cute! She waved, smiled and danced. Little kids can be so adorable.

But being a parent is not easy, having to chase the little ones must be tiring. but I guess the moments are very worthwhile..

It is spring but it feels like winter...

Spring is supposedly here but the weather is still kind of chilly in the City Down Under (Melbourne City) but according to the weather forecast, its going to be warmer in the next few days. Well, I should be glad that the University is having it's 2 weeks "Spring"/ mid-semester break but there is just too much work to finalize and the laziness is just not helping one bit. The only fun part for this break is the spontaneous plans made by Daniel and that the photography session really allowed me to "chill" and think less (I really need to, according to my tutor). The walk in the park so to speak was inspiring. The idea of capturing the essence of the evening sun was totally ruined by the gloomy clouds hovering in the skies but nonetheless, some beautiful shots were captured of Princess Park.

The one thing I love about the people of Melbourne is how much they care and love their dogs. Walking in the park, one can see owners playing fetch with their dogs or even seeing the dogs jogging beside their masters (mostly leash-less) and being very obedient. The water fountains found in the park did not only serve the humans but also for the canine friends.

But enough about the love for dogs. Spring is here and the one thing to look forward to are the things that grows in spring. Especially the flowers which starts to bloom in spring. There are not many now, but soon, I hope.

The blues of hues

Life and time can just fly past in a blink of an eye and there are just days when you wish it would just end or that it will just halt for you to catch your breath for a minute or two. Designing is fun but it can be a pain in the ass at times when you have to stop all development and go back to square one to trace your steps and make amendments. Reading about the history of some artists, I realized most of them go through a phase called the blue series. But this is not the case. Nope, I am not going to talk about my bluest of days but to share the things I do when I feel blue. The last post, you saw the yellow version of my lomography. Now, here is a blue-r side of things.

Camberwell Sunday market

Went "shopping" at Camberwell Sunday market the previous Sunday before church. Its a good place to go to if you are looking for a place to buy other people's junk/secondhand stuff. From old records, books to clothes to antiques and to old lego parts. One lesson I learnt that day, being a vegetarian is not easy. I accidentally bought a vegetarian Falafel for Breaky and halfway through I felt that I needed meat immediately. Walking around, I wish I had the space and the money to collect some of these things which I am very sure of, will become junk one day.

In the end, when I thought I can constrain myself from spending money. There was this store selling leather jackets and with a little push from my very good friends, I bought a black genuine leather jacket (second hand of course) for AUD25. Though it was a lil thorn and dirty, I managed to clean and to fix it and now, it looks new. A general advice, DIY is better than sending it out. It costs a bomb in Melbourne to get it clean and fixed. Pictures of the jacket soon. The funny part of the sale was the Old Italian man selling me the jacket asking me where I was from. I told him I was from Malaysia and he replied:"From Malaysia? Very good people, very friendly. And have very rich king." Right... "rich" king indeed. I realized that he was talking about the Sultan of Brunei so I smiled and told him it was Brunei and not Malaysia. But I guess, Malaysians especially those who comes to Melbourne to study are generally very friendly despite the negative news back home.

The day was great nonetheless. Spring is here.

Great thing about this semester is that we have alot of campus tours and we are brought around by our tutors to visit the other buildings on campus. Its interesting to see what we learn is applied into what we will do inthe future or architecture of the past. Melbourne University Parkville campus is the best to do so because of the many historic architecture you can find on campus. Not to mention, some very interesting statues and names for the building. For example:

The historical carpark used for the movie "Ghost-rider" which I couldn't take picture of because it was too dark.

But at the "gates", it was guarded by two statues which seems to be screaming:"STRESS!!!" or "Migraine! Knowledge is a killer of brain cells!"

Forgot what building this is, but its next to the botany building.

You might fun some interesting and supposedly functional designs in Melbourne University where they combine the past with the new.

But at the end of the day, it is just great to get out from the boring classrooms to the outdoors.

Lomography and the sudden love for it..

I know I should write more or update more but the lack of inspiration in both my design ideas and blog postings is killing me. And when you think all hope is lost (due to the fact my compact camera battery always die on me when I need it the most), I got myself a mini-lomo camera and started going out to the streets of Melbourne cit to bring you my version of lomography. One thing you might want to know about this style of photography is that, it is not supposed to be clear, the colours can be odd and finally, I never know what I take till I upload it online. So, its more of an art than "Pro" photography. These are my first series and there will be more to come. Enjoy.

Somehow, me and my friends are going old-school or "art-school" that they are ignoring their DSLRs.

I realized that the colours may be off but it creates a very interesting feel, though mummy beg to differ. But in all ways, sometimes my mind works so differently that those who are close to me just don't get me anymore. This is the effect of entering a course which literally tests and push you forward and changes your mindsets all the time.

Being in Melbourne for almost 8 months, I have to say, I am somehow falling for the city but in a way, still unable to catch on with its cultures. But I admit, its a beautiful city to be in, especially with all the old Victorian style architecture. Every country has its own beauty. The chaotic KL can be wonderful when you are new to the place.

But who knows, I might be saying this about Melbourne in a couple of years being here.

Time will tell.

Unless it crushes me to the ground first.

Who knows, I might love it here till I want to leave an imprint of myself before I go back to Malaysia. Or should I forget my home country and stay here? My future, what do you behold for me?

In the end, the future is not for me to know and to slowly find out. So.... For the mean time....

I shall get use to the coffee culture,

Merdeka was not just the day that Malaysia gained independence from the British, but a day where all races found friendship while working together as one Nation to fight for our Merdeka. Its not about being Malay, Chinese or Indian that makes us Malaysian. It is about understanding each race and religion and accepting it that makes us Malaysian. Malaysia is 53 years old. It is time for our nation to grow up.

People of the new generation, you are all smarter than the old fools who call themselves politicians. They are the ones who spread racial tensions to their own gain. Don't let them fool you. I don't care if you support BN, PKR, UMNO, MCA, MIC, DAP or whatever shit. But support the harmony of the races. Support being a true Malaysian. Fight for the rights to call yourself a Malaysian! We are born in Malaysia, we are raised in Malaysia, of its values and peace. We are Malaysian!

Woke up at six one morning, I am not sure when was that but I remember it was one beautiful Sunday morning. Somehow, I have forgotten how beautiful it can get when the sun-rises. Melbourne Museum (July 1st)

One of the best memories I had in Melbourne with my dear was the day we went to visit the Melbourne Museum to visit the Titanic Artifact exhibition. One beautiful day and also a day with many memories.

It was a beautiful morning with so many people visiting the artifact exhibition. Waited in line and by the time we got the tickets, we had to wait 2 hours before our turn to enter the Titanic exhibition. Thank goodness the museum was huge and packed with things to see. Trust me, Melbourne Museum is so so so much better than the National Museum in K.L.

There is a dinosaur exhibition in there too but didn't manage to take pics of it because it was dark and the bones were HUGE!

But I did manage to take pictures of a baby one.

Fun fact: Did you know that Australia is one of those continents where you can find dinosaur bones?

But the most important part of the visit were not all these exhibits but the Titanic ones. Too bad we weren't allowed to take any pictures inside. However, there are some memorabilia which you can buy from the exhibit. Before entering the Titanic exhibits, we were given "Passenger passports". It was for us to keep till the end of the tour of the exhibit and on the wall, we shall try and see if we "died" or "lived". So here are the keepsakes. Sorry if its too sweet.

Upon entry, the background was actually just a green screen, the background was chosen by us.

For those who watched Titanic, this was the replica of the grand-staircase which Rose came down from. I know we don't look glam enough. But trust me, the ship's interiors were so amazing (for the century that is).

So if you are wondering if we "lived" or "died"

We both died and drowned.

By the time we finished walking and looking at the exhibits, it was sunset (which is at 5 pm in Melbourne during winter) so we headed outside to look at the sunset. When people tell you winter is depressing, I say: "Yes, it is. But not always."

Walking home, we side-tracked to Brunetti at Lygon Street for a late tea. Had cakes and hot coffee.

Sadly, holidays are over.... Uni is starting and its the final semester. Sigh.... But it was a great winter (first winter) break. Well, time to start the final semester with a BANG! Can't wait it to end too. God help me....

Melbourne Zoo...8/7

These posts in Melbourne would NOT be in sequence because well, I am just too lazy to do so. LOL... But no worries, I did record the date each place I visited in Melbourne. First off, the zoo is not my "ideal" place to visit but after visiting the Melbourne's Zoo at Parkville, I beg to differ. It was a cold-sunny-winter morning and I promised my dear I will bring her to see Koalas and Kangaroos and the closest sanctuary for these critters is at the city zoo. We made our way there with my bag filled with cookies (tim-tams) and home-made beef steak sandwiches and when you think not many people will visit the zoo on a weekday, well, you will be dead wrong. It was packed with screaming and excited children and some loud animals (literally. Not referring to any humans.) Thanks to Eddie, I managed to get 2 tickets for the price of one. Seriously, it was a beautiful morning.

The first animal we visited was the Gorilla and his family. And let me tell you, this is the first time I seen animals in zoos so HEALTHY! You can compare this post with the one I did on the Malaysian Zoo (Zoo Negara). My favourite animal of the trip was this guy..

The smallest Hippo I ever seen. Surprisingly, there weren't any big ones.

Baboon.. or a.k.a. Mandrill... The Dominant male has a very colourful ass (literally) but I didn't manage to get a picture of it.

Was suppose to get a picture of the famous new baby aussie elephant, but it was too shy so I only managed to take pictures of only one big elephant. Well, its not like I never seen an elephant before.

This little critter was so cute. It was walking back and forth like a supermodel on a runway sniffing who knows what but thankfully, managed to get a nice shot of this spiky Echidna (Thanks Benny).

And of all the animals, the star symbol of the land down under decided to nap that day. But it still looks cute, none-the-less.

Bah... The lions were sleeping too. Must be the cold weather.... Grrr... Dang you winter.

And this picture made me miss home. Imagine barbecuing one of these. MMmmmm~ Roasted wild boar...

Holidays in Melbourne

Holidays are here and the slacking has begun. Been so lazy that I almost forgotten to update here. It has been a tough week but we all have to move on (but then, there are new things going on). Anyways, I been window shopping with friends for 2 days, then slacking at home for another two. Life is good. Managed to take some nice pictures of Melbourne while I was out, but am not going to post all. Melbourne is getting cold and also wet, been raining for the past few days. That's the reason of slacking at home. But anyways, when you have the chance, walk around Melbourne City, there is much to see and also hear.

Woke up this morning with a shocking and sad news. My friend from CF, Joash passed away this morning (Malaysia time). My first thought was, I promised him to find him when I go back to K.L. but I guess I will never have a chance to anymore. Sad as I am, I must be happy that he is back with the Lord. Life is short.. Its unexpected. Its a gift. Shall miss you my friend. Say Hi to God for me...

What the Cold brings....

The cold has taught me one thing. And that thing is to never complain that the weather is hot and maybe in the future to never complain that it is cold. If you ask me now if I miss home, I will tell you: "YES! I MISS HOME!!" I miss home because I miss heat. Imagine being in a fridge the whole day and you won't be able to get out for the next 3 months and it only gets colder day by day. But the good thing is, you get to enjoy hot drinks like hot chocolate or a hot cup of Chocolate Irish-Cream Mocha and you really appreciate it. It tastes better during the cold. Some free time before I start my revision for my first exam here in Melbourne, so I looked back to some old pictures from my college years. One thing for sure, I have stopped (for the time being) from asking myself why am I doing architecture and why I want to become an architect. I realised that the reason most of us do it because of passion. Trust me, if there is no passion, you won't make yourself suffer for more than 4 years in Uni then your lifetime as an architect when you graduate.

My reasons into why I think I am in architecture:
1. We are given/shown the world.

And instead of just appreciating and live in it, we want to contribute to it. We want to create something more meaningful and beautiful to contribute to society. They say architects are gods, I say bulls**t.

We are merely imitators of what God already created and we gain inspiration from the nature around us. We grasp it and we try to understand it and then we create the buildings people live in. You say you don't need architects because engineers can also design, I say, if you like living in a box, good on ya!

2. Because we are not into saving lives.
But we are interested in letting people begin new lives. Architecture does not only concern the aesthetics of the external but also the internal. We all need a place to live, to find shelter and to start a family. Don't tell me you want to start a family on an open field.

We do not just design boxes, if we do design boxes, we design it with style and with thoughtfulness. Of how it fits with the character of those who dwell or work there. We are not doctors, but we are also concerned on how people live and how our designs will affect them.

3. Its a journey.
No one ever says the road to a career is easy. So why is architecture any different? We get to see the world through books and through travelling to places. Architecture has shown me that the world is so big and tell me how much I haven't seen. Its not about the money, I would rather be working on site than in a big stuffy office. I rather be free than being in a cage with four walls.

Architecture is an unending journey in life. Some architects even work and enjoying their work till their death. Their dedication like no other. These are the men I admire. They been through up and down but they died being remembered till centuries later. Their works became inspirations to young designers like me. Their works lives centuries after centuries.

But with all that, I love what I am doing because I have the passion in what I am doing. Its not always about fame, fortune and riches. Heck! Its not about any of those. Its about realising your dreams, your happiness and you life's work. I like this quote by Mother Theresa:

Now, time to stop questioning why you are in your course, but be glad you are in it and make the best out of it. Don't blame your parents, don't blame society... Just have passion and you can make it some day.

A New Layout

I can't believe that half of 2010 has past. Its surprising that seasons changes faster here in Melbourne. Unlike being in Malaysia where there is only 1 season. But I do miss the warmth. Somehow.... (going to regret saying this when I go back) Today, the max temperature is 9 degrees. So yes, its cold! The thing to keep me cheerful during this season is photography. And my favourite spot in Melbourne is the Memorial Shrine. Anyone have other suggestions to where I can go visit in Melbourne? Which uses the less $$? LOL... Anyway, can't wait for the month long winter break. Going to hibernate and rejuvenate.... And hopefully, reshape. LOL!! Exams in a few days time. Whew! Gotta study hard!

But, maybe the argument is a little bit too big, and your scope covered many intentions of Wright’s later works. If you can add some previous works of Wrights to further make a series of comparisons, the article will be more precise! Or, you may have narrowed down your argument and only focused on one or two “new” strategies of Wright. Maybe you can say something more which has been never talked (try to be more critical and creative). Silent Protest in Melbourne

When you think the world is chaotic back in September 11, 2001, let me tell you the world has escalated into a stage where chaotic is not the word to describe it but inhumane. This is not the first time I seen a protest in Melbourne but well, when I saw what they were protesting about and the reasons behind it, my heart churned and my mind just went blank. I can't judge to say who is right or wrong but this is what I think: War is never the answer. It just hurts families and destroys things people love. Here are some of the scenes I saw today:

One month worth of post

Sorry for being gone for so long, been busy with assignments and studio that I almost forgotten that I got a blog. Oops.. Well, I do have a lot to write and many pictures to show. So please don't mind the many many pictures I took. May was an interesting month. First, its almost the end of fall, then its like rushing assignments time, then lastly mum's and grandmum's visit to Melbourne for my cousin's graduation. Even though I was in the midst of assignments and all, I still visited mum and followed my relatives to places in Melbourne which I haven't visited since I came to Melbourne. Got quite a few good pictures to share. Some might make you drool though. LOL!

Autumn is almost over. One of the most beautiful season of the year ever. Well, it's because the leaves are all changing colour and changing for the season.

But somehow, there are still many beautiful flowers around.

Grandmum's favourite things to do any time and anywhere she travels is looking at flowers. And thank goodness there are still many lovely nurseries with beautiful flowers around for her to enjoy.

The thing about trips is that we usually will go look for food. And in my mum's case, it's deserts. So when I followed them to Mount Dandenong, we went to Miss Marple's for their homemade scones and jam. YUM YUM!

But the best experience I had for May was not the flowers or animals but it was the first time I tried Teppanyaki at Kokos at the Crown Casino for my cousin's graduation dinner. The food was so so but the experience was nice. So cool to have someone cooking in front of your eyes and the experiencing the heat.

And to accommodate the dishes is a tasty cup of green tea. I love their green tea because it has sort of a burnt smell in it. Anyone in Melbourne know where to get it?

Dearest mum... Oh yea, she came for Mothers' day... So nice... It has been a few years since I celebrated this day with her.

Of remembrance and gunfire breakfast...

ANZAC DAY (Melbourne April 25, 2010)

Woke up at 430 a.m. just to go for the Dawn Service at the Shrine of Remembrance which starts at 6 a.m. Talk about patriotism, I don't even wake up for the Merdeka Parade in Kuala Lumpur. So met up with Bryan and went to the Shrine first. Lydia was slightly late so she met up with us there. The morning was cold and the shrine was clouded with solemness. There were so many people there and as a Malaysian Chinese a.k.a. "Asian", I felt like I didn't belong there at all (yea, because the event had nothing to with me at all.). The ratio of Asians being there with the Caucasians is 2000 to 1. Seriously!

The event was very meaningful, everyone was serious for an hour and a half listening to speakers followed by the 21 gunshot salute as a symbolism in remembrance of those who died fighting in the war.

After the service, the three of us decided to walk around and snap some photos of the scene. We managed to witness the beautiful sunrise. I guess none of us have ever woken up so early since we touched down in Melbourne.

Oh yea... I did find one reason why I need to celebrate ANZAC Day....

Yes... Because they fought for the state I was born in and also the country of my citizenship.

MALAYA (Later changed to Malaysia after 1963 when Sarawak and Sabah joined Peninsula Malaysia)

So many people were crowding into the Shrine to pay their respects to those soldiers who fallen in Battle. Me, Bryan and Lydia didn't bother to line up because there were just too many people.

By the eternal flame, you will see visitors throwing coins, trying to get it into the flame. But it falls out anyway because there is a hole to allow nothing to get stuck inside.

Another Unique thing about this day was the breakfast that you can head to and try. Its nothing special really. Baked beans, a piece of bread, 2 sausages and scrambled eggs. But from what I know, its the army food. Before the parade started, the three of us head out to the gunfire breakfast tent to grab a bite to eat, its free, but they asked for donations, so you give what you feel is right.

Try to imagine being the only few Asians in line.

After breakfast, we head out to the streets to watch the parade of veterans and soldiers of Melbourne. Here are the pictures of the day event... Not much to talk about.

So ends my ANZAC Day experience.... It was so interesting. As Lydia put it "I feel more Australian.". We clearly would not find this kind of memorabilia or remembrance in Malaysia. Even the "Pahlawan" remembrance is to remember only those Malay heroes.. What about the other races who fought for the Independence of Malaysia? Was it only one race of heroes who gave freedom? For a country who pride on multi-racial cooperation, we have one of the most racist attitude you can ever find. That is why I admire the Australians. They remember all their soldiers who fought in the war, no matter their race, their religion or where they were or their ancestors were from. Sigh.. Need to pray for a better Government..... Ok... Lest We Forget!

The title is the slogan written on the Shrine of Remembrance, Melbourne. To remember all the war heroes in the bloody 20th century. Like I said in my previous post. I was meant to visit the Royal Melbourne Botanical Gardens but ended up at the Shrine instead. Standing in there, I got to think of what useless thing war is. All the life sacrificed in order to get freedom. And what exactly is that freedom. This Sunday will be ANZAC day. An Australian holiday to remember those who fought in the wars, the military men, the brave young men and women who fought for not just the freedom and peace of Australia but in other cold and bloody wars and that included Freedom in Malaysia (and by the looks of it, their sacrifices are in vain-with all the political and racial issue that is). Architecture wise, the Shrine of Remembrance is a remarkable building. With the different styles of monuments signifying the different wars which were fought, it is indeed a sight to behold. It was a beautiful day out and here are the pictures.

This is a bad week! I have just 1 week to design a whole building with all its spaces and functions. The Design "dry" spell was so severe that I decided to take a day off on Saturday and made my way to the Royal Botanical Gardens of Melbourne to look for inspiration and surprisingly, it wasn't the gardens that gave me inspiration but the city in the sunset and the Memorial Shrine which struck my design senses. But more of that when I am free. Plenty of pictures to share but here is a few for you to savour before I find the time to update this blog.

Easter Weekend at Docklands

Good Friday was the start of my week long Easter break and if you think I should be celebrating, well, you are so wrong. Assignments piling up as high as you can possibly imagine and all are due the week after the break. How great is that huh? Well, I spent last Saturday at the Docklands to visit my site for the final project for studio. I love the Docklands. Its so nice and scenic though it was kinda hot. The buildings there are absolutely beautiful. I did show a few in my past post but this post is all about the buildings there. There will be more pictures of the Docklands in the coming posts because I will be going there often this semester...

And it seems like the people like to come here for their wedding photos. This was not the only couple getting married here on Saturday, I say around 5 different bridesmaids outfit when I was walking around the Docklands.

And at Habour Town,

A pet Dino was entertaining the little children and the crowd.

It was causing mischief and scaring the little children.

It even stole somebody's shopping bag and the poor kid had to get it back... One way or another.

Poor kid.

But in order for him to get the bag, the dino/raptor have to be distracted... So 2 volunteers were selected and they had to do the chicken dance (typical) to distract the beast so the kid can get the bag back. But thankfully he did get it back.

The site which we were given was opposite the Etihad Statium which had a nice view of the bridge, the yatches and all the building around.

But the beautiful thing about the Docklands is the abstract structure/sculptures they put up and also the view of the city.

Just lovely.

But most of all, the loveliest thing about the Docklands is the water glistering in the sun creating stars on earth.

Recent Studio Works

Lets not forget the main reason I came to Melbourne is not just to know a different culture and experience a new city but to study and to develop myself to become a better design and architect in the future. Studio here is interesting. Not as stressful (so far), and lots on hands on; which is fun in many aspects. Learnt that sometimes, we just have to relax and not think of what the assignment is about, just do it. The 4 weeks workshop was to let us experiment with different media and experiment with different ways to come up with form and spaces. Something which was forgotten so long long ago. From hand sketches to 3D modelling to physical modelling, it was definitely something new. Not to mention, different kind (attitude wise) of lecturers.

Guess what? My studio theme is air and for my group (the Tuesday Group a.k.a. the Atmospheric Group) is doing Phenomenology in Architecture. So, experiences is the idea for the final project (will intro in the future post). But my favourite project at the moment is the 3D models...

A month in Melbourne...

Well, lectures and tutorials just started for nearly a month and already overnighting in the University finishing and uploading the works/assignments required to be passed up via internet. Surprisingly, the University applied the "blog" system so that everyone can view what you have done so far. Well, if you are wondering why I haven't updating this blog much, here is the reason; first, there is still no internet at the place I am staying at now, second reason is that the University limits us to 1GB (I think) a week on their internet and I am saving that quota for more important things. So after staying here for nearly a month, I am starting to enjoy the cold weather and surprisingly, started going to the gym with my house mate. I really hope it works and I get to finally shed the fat. LOL....

So here are some pictures I took in Melbourne recently, I mean apart from those I shown in the previous Melbourne post.

First of, do you know what or where is Petaling Street in KL? If you don't, go google it. It is basically the China town of K.L. But did you know there is one in Melbourne too? It's located in Glen Waverley...... Really don't believe me? Well, here is the proof.....

Oh yea, some cultural things I did here, I went for an art performance with my cousin Marlene and her husband Jag at the "THE ARTS CENTRE". But that day, I had time to explore Federation Square more. Never did I realise when you look at it closely, its actually very interesting at different angles.

If you wonder where "THE ART CENTRE" is at, just look for this structure...

The performance was very interesting, because it is based on an Hindi film but instead of playing the movie, the DJ and his band played or rewritten the music and complement in to the film.. The show was delayed due to the shower but Thank God the rain stopped and I enjoyed the show called "Mother India". Did I forget to mention that it is an outdoor theatre? Oops... But it was fun. I enjoyed the music more than the film. Its a very touching movie and the musicians did a great job complying to the emotions of the film. Here are some not very nice shots of the film.

But I did have a good time and seeing this type of art.

Ok, that folk is all I have for the moment.... I do hope I will get a proper line soon and hope to take more pictures to show you guys. Back to work... Update from Melbourne

It has been awhile huh, since I last updated this blog of mine. For those who are still checking in, thanks for reading still. To update you all, I am currently at Melbourne.. Yea, I need to update the profile like a.s.a.p. I am no longer a college student of Taylors University College. I am now a Third Year Bachelor student at Melbourne University. If you are wondering how long I have been here, well, lets just say I been here for almost a month and I am glad to tell you, I am loving it. And yes, I survived the hail storm last Saturday. So here it is, a month worth of post.

I left Malaysia on the 16th Feb 2010, yes, on the 3rd day of Chinese New Year to Melbourne from LCCT at 1 am with a bunch of Taylorians, which is lucky because the wait was killing.

I was told that I came to Melbourne at the right time because its was the end of Summer. I did go through temperatures which reached 36-38 degrees but it was all good. For my first week in Melbourne, I stayed at my cousin's Will's place and he had a cute cute dog named Molly. A cute, active, hyper and cuddly toy poodle which I played with for the whole week and she was "tortured"/ entertained by me.

I am so thankful to Will who brought me around Melbourne City and introduced me to some places. One of my favourite places I first visited in Melbourne was Docklands which was absolutely gorgeous (I went there on a brilliant blue skied day). I feel like a little kid in a new playground. Okay, who said summer was hot? LOL... I felt that it was cold and dry.

What I love about summer is that it's the final few moments where you can still catch some beautiful and most stunning flowers around. I didn't really take many floral photography because I didn't bring my camera out often.. But hopefully I will soon... Here are some for the moment.

By the way, the city is beautiful. Clean, air is fresh, people are friendly (most of them that is) and etc....

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!

It's the year of the Tiger and we ushered in the New Year with another western festival, Valentine's day. This is the year for love (it's not, according to Hisham) so first off, Aaron C would like to wish everyone a very HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR! and a HAPPY VALENTINE's DAY! Sorry for not updating for so long and as I recalled, I am suppose to revamp this blog of mind but I couldn't find the time to do so. Oh yea, for those who do not know, I will be flying off to Melbourne on the 16th to further my studies a.k.a. more stress for the year. But everything will be good. Will be updating hopefully more often to share with everyone my experience and journey in Melbourne. To all my Sibu friends, thanks for the memories during this holiday and of course thanks to my family for pampering me. Thank Goodness I lost some weight thanks to mum.

On a different note, Chinese New Year in Sibu is sort of quiet this year. Less fireworks and less people in town. Maybe traditions are slowly dying off or maybe its just the economic crisis. But may this year be a year of prosperity for all.

Things I am going to look forward to in Melbourne:-
1: New experiences in a new city.
2: More photos.
3: Looking forward to the gatherings I will have with my family and old friends.
4: The walking. Yes, I will be staying 45 mins train ride from the city where my University is.
5: Looking forward to experience, sights and sounds at Melbourne Uni.

1: Spending money in Melbourne.
2: Stress.
3: Weather.

LOL... That is about it....

The start of the Holidays pt 2...

So to start off the second part for this outing, we started walking back to Sasaki at 615. Talk about efficiency and being punctual for something for the first time. For those out there who don't know, we architecture students are famous for being "early". Well, we reached Sasaki 5 minutes before they opened. We were the only 5 who were there early so we decided to start without the others. How "nice" of us huh?

Lucky for us.... We went there on the right day. Christmas promotion just started yo.. RM 53 for all you can eat buffet dinner. Compared with Jagoya, the ambiance and the food at Sasaki, when we walked in looked fresher though there were not as many selections.

So we started without the others. Who cares right? If the food is staring at us and we have to pay RM53 we should just start and end at the time limit they give to us. So the 5 of us started at 630 p.m. sharp, taking all the beautiful and delicious Sashimi and Sushi.... And not to forget, snapping pictures of it as well.

Yummy yummy... And fresh too (to my taste la)

Can you believe I had 7 fresh/raw Oysters? SO NICE!! Heavenly... But got sick after the 6th so no more after the 7th.

The rest arrived an hour later because of the Traffic Jam. Thank Goodness we went early. By the time they arrived, the 5 of us had already finished 3 rounds of Sashimi and Sushi but we paused to settle the tummy before everyone arrived. It became rowdier when most of them arrived. Najat, Becca, Huei Liq, Amman and Zaki were stuck at Federal Highway till 9 P.M. (sad case)

What I learnt that is we need to have true friends to go through all these hardships of what we are going to call life in the future. You guys have been an inspiration to me. Your works and your idea, Your help and your friendship.. Those are the things I feel I will cherish and inspire me in the future. Daphne and Sherman, I know you guys didn't make it to our outing but you are still part of us. Well, *bow* Thank you everyone, Lameville+ABC+Chii+Qian Pei+Many others (yes, our group grown immensely) and may you all have bright futures as Architects, artists, designers and etc.

The start of the Holidays pt 1...

Got the pictures from Hau Yee, looked through all 662 pictures then selecting them then realized that I have to write this posts in parts because we just have too many pictures which are interesting enough to post.

Well, the start of the holiday went great. After our sort of last drink as a group at the "slow place" at Taylors PJ, me, Lau, Clement, Gordon and Hau Yee headed down to K.L. city to book a place at Sasaki first. Lucky for us, it was a smooth ride with no heavy traffic jams and we got to the car park by 5 p.m. Went to the restaurant to book tables for 25 people (because we didn't know how many will turn up), then we started snapping photos to kill time. Sasaki's Japanese buffet starts at 630 you see so we ended up chilling at Pavillion for the next hour.

The decorations at Pavillion was so nice that Hau Yee took out her D90 and started snapping away (with us in it of course). The lights were beautiful and created a nice ambiance, very Christmassy.

After 3 years at Taylors College, which is 6 semesters in SABD, the January and March Batch of 2007 have finally completed their final work and hopefully, I will see all of them (including myself that is) at the Graduation Ceremony in January. It has been a tough, stressful but meaningful journey through this course just to get a Diploma. Next year will be a new year where everyone will be pursuing their degrees overseas. Going to miss them a lot. Well, this post is not about teary goodbyes and sayonaras. It is in fact my final post on studio works at SABD, Studio 4 2009. The crit which happened just the morning before started with me being very excited, then disappointed because all the external crits couldn't make it so only the lectures from our college will do so, then devastated after my presentation ( I guess I expect too much or it was a bad idea to choose motorcycles as a tourism thing in Malaysia in the first place. I really don't know. But Mr. Keith didn't really like the idea for me doing the niche and also other comments which I will not say.) but it elevated back to Happy and crazy at night when we had our Japanese Buffet Dinner at Sasaki (pictures have to wait till Hau Yee post it up) and FULL. So, I am so over the comments and May the long holidays begin.

So for the last time as a Taylors' student, may I introduce to you my presentation board and my Portfolio for Studio 4 2009. Will post up and explain the building more when I have the time.

Yummy Lamb stew! And Yes, I cooked it!

Thought of cooking dinner today and well, I did. Went grocery shopping a few days ago. Cooking at home is so much cheaper and healthier I think. So, todays dish, I wish to present to you, Lamb Stew (Aaron's style [student style. Didn't have all those fancy herbs and wine]).

It's a very simple dish actually. I learned it from one of the best chef I know, my dad.

All you need are:

Onions, garlic, carrots, leek, peppers, and potatoes.

And not forgetting, the lamb. You can use beef or chicken if you like.

Marinate the lamb with rosemary, black pepper and a pinch of salt. Grill it on a pan with a little bit of garlic. Grilling it will allow the flavor of the meat come out in a way.

Grill till the meat is slightly charred or browned. Take the meat off the pan (do not clean the pan just yet) and allow it to rest.

While you let the meat rest, fry the vegetables with the excess juices and oil from the meat. Its not necessary but I like my veggies slightly grilled, taste better.

DON'T overcook the veggie. After you're done, transfer the veggies into a pot, put in the lamb next.

Pour the amount of water you desire (depends how soupy you want your stew to be). Put 2 dried basil leaves, rosemary, salt and black pepper into the stew for seasoning. Then let it boil.

When it starts to boil, let it simmer for another 15-30 minutes or so. At the mean time, start cleaning up the cooking area (unless you have someone to do it for you). Don't forget to stir.

Cook some rice (if you prefer rice) or you can get some french loaf. It's up to you. In this case, I chose rice.

Serve it any way you like and Woahla.... There you have it, a simple delicious home cooked Lamb stew... Enjoy.. I know its very brief. Any questions? Just ask me. HAHA.

Sacrifices

Into the world we run,

What is ahead,

We do not know.

Young and innocent we were to think the world was all that.

3 years in the world and we are all beginning to ask ourselves.

Is this what we really want?

Is this what we want to live for?

Is this all worth the sacrifice.

Yep, that is what I have been thinking lately. Don't ask me why but something tells me that it is. Four years ago, I was in F5 worrying about which course I am going to take. 1 year in foundation year and 3 years in getting my diploma of Architecture later, I am beginning to question myself. Is it really worth the sacrifice? Burying myself in work and stress and ignoring the fact that I have friends outside of what I call my future is slowly taking its toll on me. I am suddenly feeling guilty for abandoning my friends from MUFY for 3 years and my excuse was always because I am busy. What will I do when I go overseas? Will I then forget those who were with me and by me for the past 3 years in college as I embark the challenge of the University?

As I am now sitting in front of my computer trying hard to finish my final assignment for my diploma, I am asking myself if it is all worth it. Another 3 years or so to go buddy. You willing to go the distance. I remember in my first year, a lecturer asked us, "You ready to throw away your social life? Be prepared to throw it away." 1+3 years in college, 1 failed relationship, 6 semesters of on the edge of insanity, 1 life threatening illness and many lost time.... That was my welcome to the world. Ask me if the sacrifices was all worth it, I will tell you now. Ask me in another 3 years. Then I will tell you the answer. Life is indeed a climb which we all have to face. I am way beyond my childhood years and finally realizing that life is not just 1, 2, 3... Its chaotic and ugly but yet beautiful in many ways.....

Confusing post? Well, thats how confusing life is.... Life, Love and Lost... Thats the story of life.

This post is supposed to go up so long ago but due to my busy schedule, I only managed to post it up now. On the 4th of November, we were recruited to help save a booth which was bending beyond control by our fellow Taylorians who were showcasing it to the whole of Malaysia. In the mist of all the submissions and stress, they can't get out of this so we might as well help. That is what friends do right? Well, we went to One U shopping mall at around 230 P.M. after our lecture series to save the collapsing booth to find out that...

One of the members was sleeping on the couch... This is what happens when you don't sleep for days - You will sleep anywhere.. Even in Public.

The booth was somehow bending because of the pulling force of the bands.

Before we started, we went to look at the other booths from different architecture universities in Malaysia.

The only other booth (which won).. Yea, somehow there were only 2 booths designed and Taylors didn't win. Sorry guys but you all did your best and I thought you all will win.

Before we started the repairs, the team was interviewed by Taylor's "reporters".

It took us 3 hours to fix the booth. But in the end, it works and looks the way they wanted it to look. The space and ambiance created by the booth to showcase the works of the students of SABD was very interesting. Very warm and yet witty. Let the pictures tell the story.

On August 2009, an unlikely bunch of people came together to create 2 companies with the names N.I.C.E Designs (architectural firm) and T.G.I.N. Sdn. Bhd. (Contractor company) to "compete" with 7 other groups of companies to design an art gallery for our clients/lecturers Mr. Keith and Pn. Habizah. My 22nd Birthday and the 300th post

First of all, I would like to thank everyone for the birthday wishes and thank you gang for the wonderful outing. Lets not forget my mum and dad who gave me a surprising 7 A.M. (YES, 7 in the morning!) wake up call just to wish me a Happy Birthday which basically was how I started my birthday. And also thanks to my sis for wishing me via sms all the way from Melbourne.

Well, started my day by going to college and didn't go for studio because I have already presented so ended up at a cafe chit chatting with Najat, Becca and Zaki, had lunch then went to the final lecture of my years in Taylors.. Awwww... Well, the last lecture was on Vernacular Architecture for Environmental Sciences. See, I paid attention in class. Well, class ended early which was 2 P.M. so the gang said to head for Pyramid for bowling, dinner then a movie. Dinner and movie on them.

After a movie, we chilled at Starbucks with a cup of Frappuccino and chit chatted. Something we haven't done in a long time. We seriously need a break and inspiration for our work now. It was nice, just chilling with friends.

SABD SPOoKFEST, 26/10/2009

Congratulations to the SABD Society for successfully planing and heading the SABD SPOOKFEST on the 26th October 2009! The event was (after three years in the Course) the largest and the loudest event ever organised by the SABD Society. It all started last year *click to read* when the board decided to come up with such events to give life to the faculty and it continued this year with many more participants and many more activities to see who dressed the "worst" for Halloween. Too bad today was our studio's interim and not many dressed up for the event due to stress. But I tried my best but ended up distributing sweets from a skull with bloody hands.

I finally finished the third book of the Eragon Legend series by Christopher Paolini. Somehow, this is the first novel I bought for the year. I miss reading. Took me 2 weeks to finish this which I believe if I was free, I can complete this book in a few days. My review for the book?

Hmm... I shall give it a 8/10. The storyline is getting and better but somehow, I don't feel the satisfaction I wanted. Maybe it is because there is not as many interesting scenes compared with the first 2. But I believe that book 3 is the built up for the final book 4. Can't wait for it to come out. Quick Paolini! Write!

Last week, I went down to a restaurant across the river for dinner. The special thing about this restaurant is that it serves some of the most traditional Foo-Chow home-cook dishes which can be found in Sibu. We usually call this places "Sam Bah" which means village in Sibu and the ride there will take around 30 minutes through very dark roads and passing many factories but in the end, it is all worth it because the food there is delicious and considerably cheap (for Sibu standards that is).

First we have, pork fried with plum sauce.

"Ang Jao" deep fried chicken.

Yam soup (Foo Chow style).

"Siew Mai" (meat dumpling)

Fried Cangkuk Manis with egg.

And "Da Tou Xia" (Big Head Prawns) omelet.

This is one of the reasons why I love coming back to my hometown every holiday. Well, anyone interested? Make your way down to Sibu and I will bring you down to the place because I totally forgotten the name of the place. Well, my holiday in Sibu is almost over because I am going back on Sunday. *sigh* Oh well... Hoping for the best... Hmmm... Seem to be forgetting about something.... I wonder what it is.

Red-light district....

Got tricked by the title above? Well, its true in a way, it's not the "Red Light District" like Chow Kit or anything; it was just that that part of town was lit with red lanterns which turned the whole street red for the night. The night before last was the opening ceremony of Sibu's mooncake festival at the Sibu Chinese pagoda.

There were many people that night.

While the Dato-Datins gave their opening speeches, I decided to walk around since the whole place was open to the public and there were many traditional lanterns which were lit and looked beautiful at night.

I must say I am quite impressed by how many events we have to celebrate the traditional festivals in Sibu, no matter the race and religion. I MISSED THE HARI RAYA BAZAAR! Though the government here sucks (say a lot and do nothing), they love using these celebrations and events to grab people's attention and hopefully get people to vote for them. My only wish is that they do put the money into good use.

After hanging around the Pagoda area for awhile, decided to walk to the Sibu gateway where the lanterns led the people to where when one arrives, they will be greeted by even more lanterns.

The colours were just so beautiful but the only problem is.... The lanterns are not arranged properly so it looks kind of messy.

But overall, the colourful lights are delightful (though it made the place look like a red-light distict). But who can blame them? It is still a tradition we uphold but due to the modern Oops, red lanterns or a red lit area becomes something so negative.

Highlight of the festival might be this. The symbol of my hometown.

Gathering with old school mates

I just touched down in Sibu yesterday and tonight, I had a gathering with some of my old school mates. Just in time because they are all leaving for their respective Universities. Some are in Japan (2 actually), one in U.S.A., one in India (JO JO), 2 in U.K. and the rest from K.L. (including me).
Not many photos but it was a memorable night. We started out at this Korean BBQ place near Paramount hotel with some steamboat/BBQ thingy. Chit chatted and catch up on our where-a-bouts while enjoying the "spread"(inside joke). Yes, the place was sort of warm so Ian provided us with cold jokes to chill the place.

The night progressed and before I knew it, we were on our way to Muhibah for desert and supper. Imagining having just finishing dinner a half hour before and having supper straight after.
At Muhibah, we headed to stall number 5 which according to the rest sells the best "Shui Guo Bing" (literal translation, Fruit Ice or in correct terms Fruity Shaved Ice Desert with jelly) in town. Though we just had our dinner, some ordered some fried snacks. One even ordered a plate of "Kampua" and he even dubbed himself as the "Kampua" King.

"Kampua" King (Ian Eng): "Stay away from my bowl of "Kampua"!!!"

Oh yea, an advice to those who wish to go there to eat the desert because the Aunty at stall 6 (Liasing with stall 5) will ask you why you order food from other stall and not her's and will force you to order a plate of snacks from her; and not in a polite way. But I guess business is bad so she had to do that and maybe she is just cranky because she is old (my speculations that is).

Waited for nearly half an hour for the drink to arrive (Imagine having to make 12 bowls of this and that there were other customers besides us) and when it finally did, everyone was smiling and glad it was finally out. Conversation resumed and I found out that for my batch, there were actually many engineers and lawyers in the making which is a good thing just in case I get sued one day or if I need someone to help calculate the crazy designs to be built. Right?(Just joking guys and gals.)

The verdict... Yep, its one of the best I had in Sibu so far. Not too sweet and plenty of fruits and jellies inside. Anyone can guess how much is one bowl with and without peaches?

Great fun and great memories. Some of whom I haven't met since I finished F5 which was 4 years ago. Nice to be able to meet up with them once again. Too bad they are going back soon. See you in another 4 years or so. Hopefully the SMK Methodist Alumini will plan something in the future. Can't wait to see what everyone has become since leaving school....

Am back in Sibu and enjoying myself on the first day back. Had lunch and had an amazing 3 hours nap; no worries on due dates and idea blocks. Who can ask for more? Well, got my condition letter from Melbourne University, Deakin University and University of Tazmania.... And a sudden dejavu hits.. Leaving further and further from home......
