Sibu got style....

Finally, I saw something I like in Sibu. Architecture wise la... Yea, after seeing so many "LaLa-s" in town. Trust me when I say this because the building behind, the one in green glass is where most of them hang out and also at night, the building as we know it as Wisma Sanyan has 2 strips of pink Neon lights on the top of the building. It really represented the building's function well. HAHA.... Will take a picture once my back pain is better. So, let me introduce you to the building I found interesting in Sibu now. The building above is the renovated/rebuilt primary school which I went to long long long time ago.

The renovation started late 2007 and was completed not long ago. I got the before completed pictures *here*. I didn't expect it to look so good. But the sad part is, they demolished a structure with 70 years of history to build this. There goes some of the sweet memories of the past.... But like what I learned this year. Sometimes in order to grow, we have to destroy. At least the memory is instilled in the memories of those who went there in the past...

But I must admit, I like this way better than how it used to look. The old colonial style building could not accomondate all the staff of the Masland Methodist church and the teachers of SRJK (I know it more as SRB) Methodist Primary School.

Anyone can read or understand the local language? Its actually the Lord's Prayer in Iban.

My primary school... Part of it which is still standing that is... The Sign was there and untouched since I entered Primary 1 15 years ago!! 15!

And guess what, when I was walking around snapping these photos, there was a wedding happening in the church. There was a couple of photographers and a cameraman waiting for the bride to arrive at the church.

This is the church but this photo was taken from the older post.

Opposite the school is the Lembaga Hasil Negeri which as stated in my old post on Sibu, was Hock Hua bank then Public Bank years ago.

Wisma Sanyan. Yes, it looks nice in the day but I hate it at night.

Walking around, I saw some familiar scenes from my past.

And also, the old coffee shop I used to go when I was in primary school for breakfast or lunch.

This is where you can find one of the best Kampua in town....

Serious... Age and experience weiiii..... The cook is still working full time....

Man... I miss the good old days.....
