Model Shoot

Sorry guys if I kinda lack updates these few days. Class started and guess what, its only the end of the third day and it felt like it has been 2 weeks in college. Yes, that is how freakingly stressful just at the beginning of the final semester at Taylors. 4 assignments from 3 subjects will be due in 2+ weeks and time is really running short on us. So, forgive me if the updates slows down a tad.

On a different note, before I came back to K.L., I had a photo shoot with my friend Mary who graciously decided to help me in this style of photography. Model photography is not really what I want to pursue but it is good to practice and improve in it. And it is thanks to the first photo shoot which inspired me to do this one, *click*. However, this one is not a competition. Just having fun. As a new comer in this style of photography, I would like to ask anyone to comment so that I as a person can improve in my photography skills. All comments are welcomed, Positive Or Negative. Seriously, I don't mind.

Location: Ku-Tian Gong Yuan (Ku-Tian Garden), Sibu
Model: Mary
Photographer: Aaron C
Camera: Fujifilm Finepix S9500

I promised I will only put the 3 of my favourite shots for this session. So hopefully she likes it too.

So, What do you think?

P.S.: Thanks Mary for the help.

I'm not a photog pro but this is my two-cents la... she doesn't really look like the subject of the picture. It's like the background trees and all are detracting from her =p... Still, I'm sure you'll improve! Gambateh!

izzit the pic or the quality after you've resized it? it seems a bit noisy..and i think you are trying to use the Rule of Third in the pics..

try not to use that method in your portrait..like PoisonKagero said, it seems like the subject is the trees and others..

PoisonKagero: Thanks alot. Really appreciate your 2-cents. Really appreciate it.

Yatz: Wow, the famous Yatz visited. HAHA. Well, yes, its due to resizing then the quality becomes noisy. Maybe I will replace the pictures soon. Thanks for your insights though. Really appreciated.

same opinion here ,
it is better to take the model expression than trying to blend her in the background

Good shots though i think the third picture, the background is too distracting.. perhaps better to zoom in more on her on the bench

Just my 2 cents' worth

hahaha..nice nice..but but..the model looks like a statue instead..for portrait photography, there should be life, something that makes you see that the model is a living thing..the first photo is okay..the 2nd one is good, just lighting prob..the 3rd one..hmm..makes me wanna say that the bench is the focus and it's better off if u just shoot the view instead..why dont u show the others also? i seriously recommend u buy a cheap slr, flash, then reflector..another thing is that usually portrait shot emphasizes on the relationship between the viewer and model..that means eyes..eyes do haunt..so if youve taken close shots then show it..=)..some links.. http://digital-photography-school.com/how-to-bypass-the-portrait-mode-on-your-digital-camera-and-get-great-portrait , http://digital-photography-school.com/portrait-tip-add-interest-and-movement-into-your-shots-with-wind, http://digital-photography-school.com/the-human-side-of-photography-4-tips-for-natural-looking-portraits..http://digital-photography-school.com/..just my 2 cents ya..humble humble humble opinions of mine..

Haha, why never invite us? At least we can give you some on-the- spot advices, like how we did it during the outing to Rantau Panjang.Avoid shooting model under direct sunlight and facial expressions are always very important.
