Holding back some memories, now released...

It has been almost a year. Yes, A YEAR! I went to these places but I never posted it up on the blog? Wondering why? Well, its because my ex didn't allow me to before. And after our break up, I didn't want to look at those pictures. You know, emotional. Well, the only reason I decided to post it up now is because, I just remembered I had these pictures and I haven't post it up after sort of arranging my picture files in my desktop. Ironic.... But this shows I am okay with the past. Like my current studio, I have reconciled with my past. Well, about a year ago, me, my ex and her friends planned and went on a trip to Langkawi and Penang. Yes, we were happy then but not really. To be honest, that trip signified the start of sort of a broken relationship. But I had fun anyways. Well, I have forgotten what happened and the stories of these pictures. Forgive me ya.. But I do remember where (Langkawi/Penang) so bear with me.

In Langkawi for 3 days and 2 nights.... Went around with a rented van... Visited some of the famous places... Took some really interesting photos.

Went to this island which is close to Langkawi and this monkey was angry with the tourist... Growled at us...

Free fish spa...

Went to a famous waterfall.... Don't know the name... HAHA....

Then on one of the islands, while we were enjoying our time on the beach, some monkeys stole our food and I managed to catch it red handed. See the one with the pink packet in its arms... That was our strawberry cookies... I think in its mind it was thinking:"VICTORY!!!!"

Some crabs? Cannot be eaten though. Too small.

On the fmous black sand beach, I managed to catch some locals harvesting clams. Beware... The surface is sharp and can cause deep wounds.

Some of my best shots taken at the Langkawi underwater world.

Kiss the crocodile at the crocodile farm.

Or, Smile with the snakes.... :)

These snakes looks more healthy than the ones I saw at Zoo Negara.

Trip to Langkawi was fun. And sorry, I am not going to put up the group pictures. No permission from the people. Anyways, if I were given the chance to go to Langkawi again, I will make sure the person who invites me pay for me. Why? Because, for me, its not really worth the money. Yes, its duty free but so what? I still prefer Redang. Though its only the beach, but Redang has a much nicer view. So on my tour around Malaysia, I can now strike off Langkawi and Redang. Oh yea, after Langkawi, we took a 6 hour boat ride to Penang Island.

One thing about penang island is that I love the architecture there. There are so many well-preserved buildings there. We stayed at a Budget hotel near Komtar, so it was easy for us to walk around the island to look for some of the famous food there.

My favourite picture from the trip to Penang, I have to say is this shot. Was taken at a beach in Penang. This little girl wanted to pat the horse. Look at her expression. So adorable.

Going to Penang, besides the Fried Kuea Tiaw, you must try the cendol and the Penang Laksa. It is to die for. Cheap and delicious, I think I had 2 bowls of cendol and 2 bowls of laksa in one visit, after lunch. HAHA...

The Phua Chu Kang stall. Why is it called that? Because Pua Chu Kang visited and ate at this stall looo... Sorry, I don't remember the name of the road. Maybe those who are from there can enlighten us.

*Slurps*

Ho Chak!

*YUM YUM YUM* I miss the laksa...

Well, the trip lasted about a week. Ate a lot, played alot.. A good way to start off a holiday.

Some shots of the Penang Habour.

Well, by looking at these pictures, it reminds me of how fast time passed. I was in my first half of my second year in architecture then. And this year, the first half of my third year is ending soon. 19th May to be exact. So what have I learned? First off, relationships (with friends or a girlfriend) can be hard. I seriously need to learn how to deal with these issues. Especially issues with future groupmates. Friends are the hardest to work with. because you need to hold back your feelings just to ensure friendship is not broken. In BGR, well, it hurts. First time experiencing it and learned to overcome it. Well, I wish my ex all the best. I am not her guy after all. And to my future girl, whoever you are.... Don't make my life a living hell again... Just joking la...

Time is ticking, my life is getting shorter day by day...
But the future must come so time must past.
Lots of work to do, my future planned.
No time to back out...
Time to move forward....

WEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee........ Studio!!! EXAM!!!

p.s. To those who went on the trip with me, Thanks for the memories... If you do read my blog that is. HAHA.....

Of music and Good food...

Hmm... Seems like I have been down to KLCC more than I have been to Midvalley or One Utama since the beginning of this year. I guess me and most of my friends noticed that as well. Its seems to us that we been going down to the city almost every weekend for some event of some chilling out time. Well, this weekend was no different.

Yesterday, I met up with Darren, Li Qun and Aaron L to watch and listen to a sound performance by a Japanese, Mr. Norihiko Hibino (a song composer and a saxaphonist) and Simon Lee (pianist/ keyboarding). Reason we knew about this event was because Crystal introduced me to go watch her cousin, Simon Lee perform. And there are certainly no regrets. Love the music they played. Though some were old classical ones, but the music made by the Saxaphone can really melt a person's heart (if you love music that is) and with the keyboard to back up the melody, magnificent. There was also an exhibition on Roland music instruments so before the performance started, we tested it out. I love the electric guitars. Wish I had time to learn it.

So on with the performance...

Mr. Norihko started off by showing us the importance of tuning the mics and the sound before the performance started. If this is not done well, the sound and the music will turn out horrible. It has got to have a balance between the melody and the backup.

Simon Lee, playing the keyboard. Not to forget, he is a graduate from Berkely University in Carlifornia.

For one hour, the both performed a couple of songs for us to hear like "Somewhere over the rainbow" and some of Wang Lee Hong's songs and I only remembered one of the titles which is "Forever Love". Imagine the Saxaphone making the music. B.E.A.U.TIFUL!

One of my favourite shots. Had to edit it because it was blur. I seriously need a more pro camera and a flash if I want to cover indoor events with dim lights. But who am I to complain. Without this camera, I couldn't get the shots I have today. Right?

Well, besides music, they told us about the importance of sound performance and how it is a very important job espeacially when it comes to composing music. Oh yea, Mr. Norihko is also one of the Music Producers for the game "Metal Solid Gear". Cool huh? Well, whoever is interested in sound engineering and music composing, you can go to his website at
Really need to thank Crystal for introducing us to go to the event. For those who are aiming for a career in Music, Mr. Norihko and Mr. Simon are going to teach at Life college next year. I don't know where that is so do check it out or google it.

After the performance, the guys decided to have something good for dinner. Yes, to celebrate us surviving another long and hard semester and since we were at KLCC, might as well find somewhere which is filling and worth the money.

View of the tower from inside of the shopping mall.

So, after checking every restaurant out, we finally decided to go to Chillies since Darren haven't been there before. But when we got there, we were told to wait for another 20 minutes for a table. When we finally got a table, we were so hungry so we immediately odered our food.

Started off with some Bottomless Tostada Chips with Salsa.

Then our Main courses. Didn't get a nice shot of Li Qun's so its not in here. Oh yea.. I am lazy to type out the names so just drool over the pictures.

And for desert,
Yes, Chillies iconic desert..
The very Chocolaty and sweet..

Molten chocolate cake. YUM YUM....
*the magazine is sort of the best Archi magazine to read so its an icon and the cake is sort of an icon... Go figure..*
By the time we finished desert, it was too late for me, Darren and Aaron L to take the LRT back so Li Qun was kind enough to suggest he send us back. And on our way, we somehow side-tracked to Maya hotel to check out the interior furnishings or decos of the place.

The spiral stairs which the other 3 fell in love with...

The view of the interior...

And the deco I fell in love with was the swimming pool area.

Isn't it just beautiful? Bamboo, wood and yellow lights.

In the end, we spent an hour there just to explore the place. Indeed, this newly furnished hotel has a beautiful interior hidden inside an old exterior.
Maya hotel... A hotel with many Leng Luis and we found out why. Its right opposite to the night club "ZOUK". No wonder laaa....

Well, reached home at nearly 1 a.m. and I actually dont feel guilty not doing any work. But the worse part is.. I am feeling it as I am writing this post. HAHA.... Well, week 14 is over, this week is study break, coming Monday is History 2 exam, 19th is final crit... Then holiday of work begins.. Lots of work in between now anf 19th... Wish me all the best... And pray I work harder....

Zoo Negara, TPC Trip, 18/04/2009

Hallo, rabbit here.... Yes, rabbit because I am born in the year of the Rabbit. Anyways, TPC had its second outing and this time, we headed for the zoo, Zoo Negara that is. Thus, the rabbit picture. Well, am writing this post in the college's digilab. The trip to the zoo was fun but if there were more people, maybe it will be more enjoyable. But due to deadlines and a Mass Com event held on the same day, only a huge number of 11 including me went for the trip. Imagine that. Oh well, got some interesting shots from this trip. This is not my first time to the zoo. My first trip there was 2 years ago and at that time, I was not really into photography so no pictures then. This round though, its all about photography...

So here is the wining 11. HAHA....

Reached the zoo at 10 and we were welcomed by the stench of the animals and with the sad looks of the animals. Not all but most. We started our journey to the ape section a.k.a. Monkey zone.

But too bad, this is the only good shot I got...
Next was the Wild boar pen... My goshh!!! The stench!! Almost fainted on the spot... But it doesn't seem like the heat and the stench is bothering this wild boar. Imagine roasting it... Mmmmmmm~~~~

Next was the Sang Kancil enclosure.....

I wonder how this innocent looking thing defeated a dog according to the history of Melaka.

And right next to its enclosure,

Was a close relative of the Sang Kancil which is the deer...

Beyond the pretty white flowers,

Were fluffy pink Flamingos..... Tried to get heart shape photo but failed..... Because... The flamingos won't stop moving...

Went for the "sad" multi-animal show which I didn't get a good shot... And viewed some typical zoo tricks. Why can't they improve the shows? Or maybe just upgrade the music....

We visited the aquarium but I decided to save my battery power because there was nothing interesting to take picture of.. Typical fishes....

After visiting Mr. greedy elephant,

Yes, he was greedy indeed.

See how he desperately trying to reach for "A" Peanut??

We went for lunch at a fast food joint called "The Wild" and of course, the food sucks.. Resting our tired feet till 1.30 p.m.

We continued our journey to the reptiles area. Where Mr. Tortoise was busily eating his vegetables.

So we decided to leave him be and visit the sleeping crocodile....

Zzzzzzzzzzz........ Why so still Mr. Croc?

Then to the monitor lizard pen where he stared at us, as if we were the exhibits.

Then, we heard a loud groan......

What can it be????

We rushed to the tortoise enclosure... to see what was happening.....

Aduhaiiii... Can't you wait till night?? You horny tortoise.... Luckily the kindergarten students came 5 minutes after the Tortoise was done.... Imagine what they will ask their teachers.
Kindy kid 1: "Teacher, what are they doing?"
Kindy kid 2: "Are they playing, teacher?
Kindy Kid 3: "Can we try it?"

Kindy Teacher: *faints*

LOL....

Well, this was not one of the exhibits but spiders are animals too right? HAHA... Love this shot though... Micro shots are fun.

While we rest our feet once more. And also to escape the hot afternoon sun. We cam-whored... Spot the similarity.

After the quick break, we went to the Savanna zone where we got to see some.....

Emo-Rhino... Or "Emono" for short...

Emo-cows or "Emows"

And one grumpy camel... Just joking, he was busily eating his food...

Wait, what do I see walking past me?

Oh.....

A bunch of humans pulling each other's "fake" tails..... and where are they headed for???

The Prime ape Lair......

So, ever wonder where humans learn about war-fare?

G.I. uuuuuuuTan to the rescue......

He climbs up tall posts.....

To look out for possible dangers.... or maybe he was just having gender issues.... Maybe those grass were his wig? Lol...

Why all this lame joke?????

Answer to the question is... I am bored...... But I need to work..... But thank you Mr. Chimp for posing for me.... Very suitable for all of us who are in deep S**T now because we are in the zoo when we are supposed to be stuck in college doing work...

But no, we were not feeling the guilt...

Instead, we felt happier that we feel we can reach the skies...

We were just enjoying each others' company and loving the sun shine...

Then it was back to the outdoors to see more animals....

Tiggerrrrrrrr was happily soaking himself in the cool water...

Lion was watching as the visitors walked by..... It was another day in the zoo for the animals.
Lion:"These humans are just boring...."

And before we left the zoo... Pelican or whatever this bird was called was the last animal we saw before walking out of the gates and went back home.....

No, it was not so dramatic.... By the time we reached the bus, we were all too exhausted that everyone sleep soundly on the bus... Oh yea, the group picture, the final one that is, is with Toby... I didn't trust my camera enough... Well, I had a good time chilling.... Thank goodness for the outing.... I needed a break... For those who joined.... I hope you liked it... For those who missed it... Awwww... There will always be a next time....

Okay now... Back to workkk...
19th May is the end of sem... Countdown commencing.....
