Holidays!!! Genting Trip-16/5/08

Sorry for the long long absence in writing in here. For the past 9 days, I have been vacationing at Langkawi then to Penang with some friends and when I got back for the past weeks, the line in my place seems to be a disaster. But first, I shall first update the awaited (by the Lameville) post on our trip to Genting Highlands.


May 16 2008, members of a group called Lameville with 3 friends from out batch named A.B.C. (Aaron Lau, Benjamin and Clement), a Senior (Chi Ming *Hope I spelled it right), 2 others from Sibu (My GF and her friend Joyce) and Huei Liq's friend (Huei Liq... Whats her name? You didn't intro well.) invaded the highlands named Genting Highlands..... Man... Thats a lame introduction. Don't mind me. I am in my holiday mood and still am in the land of being loopy.

Anyway, the bunch of us did in fact invade Genting for a day. The bus was suppose to leave at 8 but due to the delayed situation caused by the LRT, Me, my gf, Joyce and bamboo were late to catch the bus. And for some reason, Chi Ming was too. And because the rest have no choice but to go ahead of us and wait for us at the cable car station.Being a good reinass, Li Qun was kind enough to wait for us to catch the next one. Oh yea Li Qun, Since you were so kind, I would not reveal the stupidity which you did. You remember? The one where you gave the whole bunch of tickets to Hau Yee and forgetting to leave 4 with you? HAHA... Opps.... I said it anyways. Finally reaching the Cable car station an hour later, we were on our way up up and up... to our destination of course!! GENTING HIGHLAND THEME PARK!

As we went higher, the fog came in and covered us in clouds of white.

I always hear people telling me that because of Global warming, Genting was not as cold as before and that one will seldom see clouds but thank goodness I did not really listen to their warning. I am thankful I brought my jacket that day.

As usual, cam-whoring is the most important thing to do in any situation. But it seems that my hands are too short.
Reaching our destination, the only logical thing to do is group photo/cam-whoring.


And we must take one when the fog starts to roll in.


ONWARDS!!! TO FUN!! AND TO RELEASE STRESS BY SCREAMING!


Just to let you see how foggy it was that faithful day. I miss the cold.

The first thing that those with cameras did was to snap photos of the beautiful flowers grown in Genting...
The first ride, of all rides we all got on, some of us went up to the merry-go-round to fool around which also includes me..

They seem to be enjoying themselves very much.

And me sitting on the house backwards instead of forward.

And round around we went...
After that "exciting" ride, we decided to head to another ride that goes round and round. While some went on the Flying Dumbo, some of us went for the teacup ride. Remember when I said I would not go on the teacup with Sherman and Ah Yang? *click* Well, this time I had no choice but to go on the ride with Sherman again. But thank Goodness this time, he did not use the theory of turning the opposite direction.




Even with one direction, we were already dizzy.

However, the girls did not listen to us and they ended up very dizzy.
*Birdies, I see birdies*

We met up with the others and went up on the next ride, the one we all love, the roller-coaster. Nothing to shout about, it got a little bit boring after a few rounds.

The expressions. This is the first round we went up so the expression is there but after a few times we were giving the ride the "I AM BORED" face.

Some of the rides we got on that day had its limits for some. I am not gonna name names but as you can see from the photo below, you can notice who were the chickens and who were not.

The brave souls that dares to fall from extreme heights.

But the actual fact is that even before going on the ride, your heart beat increases tremendously.


As we get strapped in to the seats and our seats checked for the final time,

Some were over-excited,

Some just wanted to cry.
And then off we went, up to the skies..

And higher....


Till we reached the top. Then the countdown begins....

7.....

6.....

5.....

4.....

3.....

2.....

1.....


Boom....
And down we went.
It took us a minute to reach the peak and then experienced a 2 second drop to the ground below.

Blood was pumping, adrenalin was at its peak

But instead of screams, we were shouting: "WE'RE HUNGRYYYYYYYY!!!!!!"

After getting off, those who went up the ride were mocking those little chickens who did not try the ride.

By the way, do not even enter the Ghost House ride at Genting. I give it the maximum 5 L for LAME!!! It was not even scary at all. Even the little kids were laughing and even though they speak a different language, you know that they were telling their parents how lame the ride was.

And for the fun-cart, it was okay but for those with their license to drive in the real world, the cart was so sloooowwwww.... The worst part was the wait where we had to line up for more than half an hour just for our turn. We had to sign some statement saying that in any accident, it is our own responsibility.

We were also required to get a shower cap. Cleanliness issues I guess. I wouldn't want a stinky helmet to use.
After standing in line for 20 minutes or so, one will get very restless. SO in order to keep ourselves occupied we somehow found a way to create the fog effect even without using PhotoShop. So David, if you are reading this. Copy and paste this method into the photography club blog for me. So here goes...
First, get three shower caps as shown in the photo. You can use as many as you want to get the blur effect you want.

Secondly, find your subject....

Next, place the three shower caps layering each other then covering the lens
Finally snap the photo... Thats all... And the results are as shown below.

Foggy effect without PhotoShop
After driving at the top speed of 20 KM/H for five minutes (sad isn't it?), some of us decided to take a rest while the extreme ones decided to go on the Superman Roller-Coaster which costs them RM 10 for 2 rounds. The Superman Roller-Coaster requires one to lie on their belly and go for the ride of their lives.

While on the ABCD gang which turned out to be DACB due to the confusion of how the alphabet is arranged... The reaction:
Darren: Wahhhhh... I want my mummy!!!!
Aaron L: *Laughing insanely* Wahahaha...
Clement: You laughing too Aaron? WAHAHAHA
Benjamin: *Lost for words*

And when they finally regained their composure......

Darren: WOhoooooo... SO YENG!!
ACB: YEA YEA.... We all agree!!!!

After the blood pumping ride, it was off to lunch at the indoor theme park to get back our energy. Some headed to McD for lunch and some to places unknown. We finally met up again at the ADULT BUMPER CAR and even though they call it that, there were little children lining up to play it too.










We all had fun bumping into each other till....

The stupid operator won't even let us begin even though there was no one lining up. He made us wait in the car till many people started to line up. Jackass of an operator. He only asked us to leave when many people lined up and told us that we need to line up again. Everyone who were waiting with us were so pissed off that we left. A tourist even went up to the operator and gave him a scolding. And mumbled something I believe to be bad when he left. Is this how we wanna show hospitality to the tourists? That operator have no common sense. If there were people lining up before, we would have lined up again but there were no people in line. GEez... How dumb can you be?
We decided to head out to the outdoor theme park once again due to the manner-less operator and had to say goodbye to some who had to leave early. SO some cam-whoring before leaving.

When we saw this we finally began to wonder........

The monkey selling ice-cream is Darren's apprentice... No wonder they look so much alike.. All hail the monkey king..

And then when the mist came rolling back in, a dark figure appeared... A model? A lady?? A man???

Its just Clement......

What a pose to give to us photographers....

Me thinks he learned all the different face expressions from Huei Liq.
After a few rounds on the roller-coasters and a few rounds on the corkscrew roller-coaster then we were off finding places to cam-whore and there was this particular place where we hanged out when it was almost time for the outdoor theme park to close.

Hello hello hello....(following our dear reinass) we were modeling for our hand phones and this was quite embarrassing because we asked some stranger to take this for us. They must think that we are a bunch of loneys.

How confused we all looked....
But then, when we climbed to the top of the hill, those wearing hoodies became weird and sat at the round table of the hoodies and began their meeting.

Joyce in white: All Hail the hoodies! We are much better than those wearing mere jackets.

Sherman: Yes, Indeed... Don't we look cool?

Everyone: ...... Hmmmmmm.... But don't we look like idiots meeting here?

Sherman: We must do something about that then...

Sherman: But what????? Oiiii... Idiot... You are not wearing a hoodie.. What are you doing here? Shooo Shooo...

Darren: Yes my queen, we need to do something about this.....

Wai Sie and Hau Yee: Let us give our suggestion...
Darren: Silence mortals.... Let me speak.
Sherman: *Snoring away* ZZZzzzz....

Darren: Hau Yee.. Keep your mouth shut for I would like to hear my queen snore...

Hau Yee: Nahhhh... Why should I?

The girls: *GIGGLING* Yea, Why should we listen to the monkey king?

Darren: Because I can do this....

Okay..... That was kinda stupid... But Seriously, we gone completely insane on the top of that hill. And decided that we should have a photo shoot on top of the table.

Darren was acting as if he was gay... Aaron Lau tried to follow and in the end...

His poses looked more gay...

See what I mean.... A disgrace to use the name Aaron.

Hau Yee ended up posing like a tom-boy....

And macho... And Aaron was actually snapping photos with his NO- Battery Camera...

I have nothing to say to this picture..

But they are really meant for each other....

And finally, the real deal.. Superman who can Walk the Talk (referring to his shirt).. Clement preparing to fly...

And he did....

Being cool as we are, we decided to cam-whore even more... Till....

Ewwwww..... It was Li Qun.. It seems that he couldn't hold it in any longer and did his business in the dustbin....

Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.... Just look at his face.... SO care free....

I wonder what we were looking for? A bird? A plane?
I don't know... We will never knowww.....

Cam-whoring for one hour is tiring work.. And it was getting kind of dark so we decided to walk back to the indoor theme park and as we were walking... Flowers distracted us from walking to the indoor theme park faster.

I am so not sure how to end this post... Because at the indoor theme park, we went back for a round or two of bumper cars, roller coasters and then finally split up while some headed to Star Bucks for a cup of coffee and Some of us went on the rides. The trip ended up with these photos.. And I shall leave it to you guys to interpret it. And I am still laughing when I see these photos....

Well, that was a nice trip with the gang... SOrry bout the delayed post... Will be writing more... Hopefully... Pray that the line will be stabled..... Till then.. Happy holidays...
