To someone special....

Wait wait... No, she is not my girlfriend... To those who don't know, this is my sister (not biological though, but we act as if we are.), Louisa. And the reason I wrote this post is because its her birthday and I promise not to ever forget her's after certain incidents in the past. Oops, I know, I am a terrible bro. *But on that same year, she forgotten about mine for the same reasons.*

I AM DEDICATING THIS POST TO HER BECAUSE SHE JUST TURNED 19!!


So first of all I would like to wish her a very Happy 19th Birthday!!! I am stressing on the 19 because its your last year being a "teen", though in my heart, you will always be the little girl I got to know 5 years ago.


You have been my little sis for 5 years! My gosh, that IS long. HAHA.


You are always there for me. Through my ups and downs, lefts and rights. And I love you for that (sibling love okay...) And yes, you always try to look more mature than me but sorry little girl, no matter what you do or say, you will forever be a little girl to me.


I am really Thankful to God for sending a little sister like you into my life (Seriously. We met at a youth camp 5 years ago.). Why? Because I never had a sister in my life.

But it is funny in a way how God arrange things in life. I am from a family of 4 boys and you, from a family of 5 girls. Maybe that is why we understand each other so well. HAHA.

Thanks for all the fun times we had. Yes, I do miss those days when we had time to go out and chill. Especially with the gals with all the chatter, squeals and laughter.

Oh ya, to John:
*Serious tone* Hem hem.. Do look after Louisa well ya. I know you will.
Oh ya, don't feed her too much or else I will get a earful on how she gained weight. HAHA.


I know, you will be "aww-ing" and "Haih, this Aaron." Or "I am going to get Back at him someday."


But I just need to let you know that I miss you and Love you with all my heart. I really want to thank you for being a part of my Life as my little sister. A little angel who always is there to push me and encourage me. And as we slowly grow older and more mature, I hope we will continue to be as close as we are now (John, dont't worry. I won't snatch her away from you. I promise.)

Chinese New Year 2009..

The whole family celebrated Chinese New Year in Kuala Lumpur. I heard that we made the right choice because Sibu is flooding badly due to the none stop rain. What a bad time to have Chinese New Year, during the rainy seasons. Well, for me, I thought I can escape from munching on the snacks of Chinese New Year so I won't gain anymore weight but I guess I am dead wrong.

On Chinese New Year Eve, we had a wonderful and delicious steamboat dinner prepared by dad. We had fish and prawns flown in from Sibu and it was super fresh. The rest of the stuff we put in was from the SS15 market (first time I been there) and also from Jusco. Since it is the year of the ox/cow, we decided to get some beef for the reunion dinner as well.

Fish from Sibu. Oh ya.. This fish known in Foo Chow as Bak Chiong is a "sea" fish and a fish this size can usually only be found in restaurant (because its more profittable to sell it to the restaurants than to the consumers). Well, Foo Chow people prefer sea fish because it is does not smell as fishy as the Pond reared fish... Maybe some of the more pro people from Sibu can explain (refering to Philip or Victor).
Having this with the steamboat was heaven. It was so fresh.. But not so fresh that you can eat it raw. HAHA.

Throwing it all into the pot. We were so hungry that we decided not to follow the Japanese Style which we normally do (one type of food item at a time), which was taught by my dad's Japanese Clients in the past but instead we did it CHINESE STYLE! Where we dump everything. HAHA. But it is still as nice..

Dinner ended with us eating Mandarin oranges and waiting for the fireworks at 12 to usher in the New Year..

And boy was it dissapointing when it was soooo Quiet in Sunway... Because we didn't even see any.. *SIGHS* I MISS SIBU CHINESE NEW YEAR!!!!!!

But but but.....


News was... Sibu was raining heavily that night so not many decided to play fireworks (since no one can see a thing).

So it would have been dissapointing to be back there also...

Instead of the normal, going out visiting relatives and friends. This year, I went down to the Petronas Twin Towers with my family to walk around. Guess What!!! It took me only 15 minutes to get to the place. Which normally would have taken me what, 30 minutes to reach? First time ever (for me la), NO JAM IN KL CITY!!! I know, I so jakun.. But yea.. It was interesting to see that the City was so Quiet...

That night, we went to Ole ole Bali to have dinner with dad's friend, the one who invited us to delicious. No, I can't reveal his name... because I don't have his consent to do so. HAHA. Well, no pictures taken that night. I guess you would have been bored seeing the same pictures of the same food from the many occations I gone there for dinner.

Second day, we had Dim Sum with Jacinta's family. Her dad was my dad's ex-colleague and very good friend. And Jacinta is an old schoolmate of mine. It was nice to see them again since we haven't met since they moved to KL since what 5-6 years ago? Don't have pictures here either because I forgotten to bring my camera out... Me and me forgetfulness!

That night, we went for Japanese Buffet at Jagoya (See what I mean by I am dead wrong?) But we had fun. I so need to thank dad for his connections. Jagoya was great. The sashimi was soooo Fresh. I dug into 3 or 4 plates of sashimi, had 2 Huge oysters (raw), had 6 Thai Coconuts.. An array of food stuffs from grilled to fried to steamed. I avoided the soup and the steamboat. 7 scoops of Hagen Daz (or maybe more than that), 2 waffles (Yummy with the Hagen Daz Ice Cream, some other deserts and I even went and eat a "sauna" egg. Hmmm... Did I miss anything? Oh yes.. I ate Yee Shan without the Mixing. HAHA... Didn't know mahhh... In Sibu, we do not have the tradition to do Yee San during Chinese New Year. For those who don't know what is Yee Shan, I suggest you ask your Canton friends or those from West Malaysia. They will tell you.

We went home when our stomach could not take anymore. We were sooooo Bloated. But it was nice. Thanks for the dinner. We really did enjoy ourselves. I guess he was shocked by how much we ate. HAHA.... Boys will be boys. When you have 4 boys in the family, you will understand that we can eat alot... I know, my hugeness shows it. But do not let the other 3 fool you. They can easily beat me when it comes to eating.

DELIcious at Bangsar Village 2

Can you believe that after 3 years in Kuala Lumpur and it was my first time in Bangsar? HAHA. Yes, I am such a "jakun" or "sakai". Well, the reason I went there today was becaue the whole family met up with my dad's friend who stays in Bangsar and he invited out for lunch. So at 1230 P.M., we met up and went to a cafe called "Delicious" and surprisingly, the food there is indeed delicious.
Sorry that I didn't take pictures of all the food we ordered but these are the few.

The salads are the must tries when you do head down to the cafe for a meal.

Roast Duck & Pamelo Salad with asian greens is to die for....


So is the grilled beef salad.. Just all so yummy....

Another thing I would recommend is the pies...

Mum ordered a Sheperd's Pie... Yum yum yum!


And as for me, I ordered the "Seriously DELIcious Cheeseburger" because I didn't know what else to order.

Well, some other things which my Dad and brother ordered which I didn't manage to take a picture is the "Mama's beef Bolognese Spaghettini", the "Four Cheese Macaroni", the "Carbonara Spaghetti" and the "BBQ Whole Chicken (don't know the actual name)". But according to them, it was DELICIOUS!! So for the rest of the menu, you can check out *click* or drop by their place at Bangsar Village 2 at Bangsar..

A rather late post in the beginning of 2009

Well, I am back in Kuala Lumpur again, going to start a new semester soon. *sigh*... I have only left Sibu for 2 days and I am already homesick. I guess I can never get used to be away from home. Its my comfort zone, sadly to say.. So need to find something to distract me from the yearning of flying home. Well, sorry for hiatus since new year. Didn't really have time to blog since I was hanging out with my "sis" Louisa. Won't be seeing her for another year since she is going back to Melbourne to study.

Welcoming the New Year this Year was very simple. Had steamboat with my family and with Sgt. Kong (dad's friend) and his family at King Yung Seafood near Civic centre. Well, just to let you know, this is one of the best place to go for steamboat in Sibu.

Though many will think that "Syabu Syabu" is good, this place is much better. It is not just about the freshness of the seafood, the portion, the broth but the price is unbelievably cheap. Yes, for a normal steamboat without the giant prawns and crabs, it only costs around RM30 for 12 people. Cheap right? If you are in town, I suggest you go there and try. If you want, wait for me to go back to Sibu then we go enjoy together. I will teach you the Japanese way of eating steamboat. And its really enjoyable. Because while you wait for the soup to cook, you can enjoy each other's company.

And instead of the normal induction cooker pots as we can see in many modern restaurants, this one still uses the traditional steamboat pot using gas and fire.


The guy in the middle is the chef and the owner of King Yung Seafood. Somehow, all the chefs that I know are all so skinny.

After dinner, we went to YMCA to chit chat till 1145 p.m. then we headed to town to see the 5 minutes firework display.. It was a sad sight. 5 minutes only... Oh well, its always better during Chinese New Year. Too bad I am not going back this year to celebrate. Sorry guys, my family wants to spend the holidays in Kuala Lumpur for this year.

Now that I am back in Kuala Lumpur. I miss my family's new puppy, Missy. Man, she is going to grow so much in the next couple of months and I am going to miss that. Hope she still will recognise me and not bite me the next time I am back in Sibu. She is just so adorable. Her puppy dog's eyes and cute little bark. That will all change in 6 months time.

Another thing I will miss are my High school mates. Yes, this holiday was filled with gatherings and just hanging out, chit chatting with each other. It is never a dull moment when Jsaper is around. Too bad Hisham is too busy helping his dad out with business. Looking back, we all changed since 3 years ago when we left SMK Methodist.. All the memories and funny stories. Now, everyone is everywhere. New paths are chosen and new life to come. But hopefully friendship will always remain.

Not forgetting, THE FOOD!!! Yes, I am sure going to miss all these Foo Chow tea snacks when I am here in K.L. The sweet cakes and biscuits are so lovely with a cup of coffee or tea in the afternoon.

Anyone interested? HAHA... Sorry, I don't really remember the names. Some are just so hard to pronounce.. Maybe some kind soul will introduce all this cakes and biscuits for me on the comment box. HAHA..

ITS THE START OF 2009!!! My final year (if I pass everything) in taking the Diploma of Architecture in Taylors University college. So, Time to kick start my engine and do my very best in this last two semesters. Wish me all the best. To all those in Sibu. I miss you guys and thanks forr keeping me company and relaxing me during my holiday back.. Hope to see you soon. Pray that time fly past fast. Till then. Christmas of 2008

Okay... Christmas is over so it means 2008 is at a close. Ah.... Goodbye 2008. I shall not really miss you. Yes yes. 2008 is not really a good year for me. First off, the stress I faced. Second, I guess not many people know, I experienced my first breakup and yes, to my girlfriend and not my studio. Well, and much more. Yes, yes, everyone wants to know why... But honestly, don't bother, because I am so not going to tell you. Coming back to Sibu really did cheer me up. Guess what did the trick... Here is a hint... it starts with the letter f and ends with the letter y. Yes, its my family. And with the care they give.. Not forgetting the food... I feel cheered up. HAHA.

Well, for Christmas eve. My parents decided to have a party at home. So they invited their friends. Everyone brought a dish. Well, my parents, as usual, whipped up some delicious dishes for the party. Okay, "foodies" out there, don't lick your computer screens okay...

But what was interesting is that I manage to also eat "Bansuh", a traditional Iban dish where the chicken is cooked in a bamboo with herbs, salt an pepper on an open fire. Its a very fragrant Chicken soup dish. Well, once I can get the actual details of the dish, I will write it in the future post.

According to my dad, his friend whom we know as Ah Kong cooks one of the best "Bansuh" in town.

Well, there were other dishes which I didn't manage to take picture of because I was running all over the place serving drinks to the guests. Even my little dog was having fun with the guests. Receiving belly rubs and pats on its head for Christmas eve. But sighs. He is an old dog but still acting like when he was a pup.

The night ended with everyone counting down to Christmas and then wishing each other a "MERRY CHRISTMAS" and hugs.

I love Christmas... Don't you... Its about love and guess what I celebrated it with the people who I love most in the world. That is just everything.
And you want to know what else? I am celebrating the birth of Christ, my saviour and my God.
